Etnika  WORKS WITH NATIVE WOMEN AND GENDER EQUALITY. through, the inclusion of their Art crafts for world trade. Indeed, this is one of the United Nation Sustainable Goals. As we know, in 1997, the United Nation defined “Artisanal Products” as:

“Artisanal product handmade by indigenous women is an expression of culture, love, and dreams. All techniques and design are part of a millennial culture”.

Therefore, the products handmade by indigenous women are not only beautiful. Even more important,  indigenous products mean also Art, History, and Culture. That is why, ETNIKA is  working with indigenous women in the La Guajira area, in Colombia.

These ethnic groups are protected by the declaration of the indigenous rights of the United Nations
as a cultural heritage of humanity
.

Currently, the area of “La Guajira” in Colombia is the home of Indigenous families.

In this context, Indigenous families in this area now are leaving their homes. In fact,  they have few economic resources for the subsistence of their families. Due to this,  their subsistence is in rick and they are forced to leave their ancestral lands.

Today, one of the main patrimonies of humanity is in a critical state of vulnerability. Indeed, The United Nations is also working to protect indigenous women and children who…

Likewise, they also especially victims to forced recruitment by armed groups that put their physical and psychological integrity at risk.

In consequence, indigenous, women and children are in Critical situation.  For this reason indigenous urgently need our protection and humanitarian assistance. We to change their situation. Especially in areas where the state and local institutions do not have the capacity to respond, such as the case of “La Guajira”, one of  the poorest departments in Colombia.

HOWEVER YOU CAN CHANGE THIS REALITY BY SHOPPING ETNIKA GOODS AND PROMOTE NATIVE WOMEN GENDER EQUALITY.

One of the reasons for indigenous vulnerability is due to the lack of economic resources. Due to this, indigenous families are now forced to move from their ancestral lands. They now need food and water for their families.

For this reason Etnika, is fighting to help change this situation. consequently, we are working with indigenous women. We want to generate income for their families. and help mitigate the critical situation.
