COVID-19 IMPACT TO THE NATIVE. THE WORLD AND AFTER COVID-19.

IMPACT COVID-19 has been an awakening for our societies. As a result, every person in the entire world has suffered the pandemic consequences

However, there´s people who are more vulnerable than other. For example, the Ethnic groups who are the protectors of our mother earth are  in vulnerability NOW. According to the United Nations:

“As lockdowns continue in numerous countries, with no timeline insight, indigenous peoples who already face food insecurity, as a result of the loss of their traditional lands and territories,  confront even graver challenges in access to food.

Due to this, Etnika is working to achieve income for indigenous families. Thus, indigenous women are providers of food and water for their children. Through, the sale of their beautiful handicrafts, indigenous women protect their children. by this respect, the United Nations has also stated that …

With the loss of their traditional livelihoods, which are  often  land-based, many indigenous peoples who work in  traditional occupations and subsistence economies or in the  informal sector will be adversely affected by the pandemic.  The situation of indigenous women, who are often the main providers of food and nutrition to their families, is even graver”.

In other words, the indigenous people are fighting for the survival of their families. In this case, indigenous children are more at risk. Because the income of the house is generated by indigenous mothers through the sale of their crafts. But due to COVID-19 and the closure of world tourism, indigenous women have no income. That is why ETNIKA is promoting these wonderful crafts globally.

“Yet, Indigenous peoples are seeking their own solutions to this pandemic. They are taking action, and using traditional knowledge and practices such as voluntary isolation, and sealing off their territories, as well as preventive measures – in their own languages”.

THE NATIVES ARE IN A VULNERABLE SITUATION NOW BY THE COVID-19 IMPACT.
